Frequently asked questions
Authors
How do I submit a manuscript?
Create a free account, choose the journal that fits your work, read its author guidelines and use the online submission form. You can save a draft and return later.
Can I track my submission?
Yes. Every manuscript receives a unique ID and your dashboard shows its status, reviewer comments, decisions and correspondence.
Who owns the copyright?
Authors retain copyright. Articles are published under the Creative Commons licence chosen at publication, by default CC BY 4.0.
[Demo] What file formats can I upload?
Demonstration answer: manuscripts may be uploaded as PDF, DOC, DOCX or ODT. Replace with the real policy.
Charges
Are there article processing charges?
Each journal decides whether it charges an APC and publishes the amount on its own APC page. Waiver requests can be made, and payment never affects the peer-review outcome.
[Demo] Can I request an APC waiver?
Demonstration answer: yes, waiver requests can be made at submission and are considered by the journal.
General
Is all content open access?
Yes. Every published article is free to read, download and share.
Partners
Can my society or institution launch a journal?
Yes. See publishing partnerships or contact us to discuss your plans.
Peer review
Is peer review anonymous?
That depends on the journal. Each one states its model — single-anonymous, double-anonymous or open — and the system hides identities accordingly.
How can I become a reviewer?
Reviewers are invited by journal editors. Register an account and contact the journal you would like to review for.
